Dr. Taro Hoshizaki

Veterinarian

Dr. Taro Hoshizaki received his veterinary degree from Massey University in New Zealand in 2012, after which he completed an internship and a residency in shelter medicine at Cornell University. His passion for animal sheltering and technology led him to co-author a textbook, teach for the University of Florida, and lecture nationally to help improve the lives of shelter pets.

Dr. Hoshizaki specializes in cats, young and old, and is excited to meet many new feline patients! His other interests include behavior, preventive care, spay/neuter, and infectious diseases.

Outside of work, Dr. Hoshizaki enjoys weightlifting, cooking, gardening, and crafts. A self-proclaimed nerd, he can often be seen at local conventions wearing homemade costumes. Dr. Hoshizaki shares his life with a luscious cheesecake of a cat named Beignet.
